Social realism in WPA-era post office murals
Article Abstract:
The WPA commissioned artists to paint murals in post offices. The works were designed to represent social themes of the towns and cities in which they were painted. Some artists became known after their painting efforts, including William Hart Benton and Stevan Dohanos.

Article Abstract:
A history of the German region starting with the loose federations of states in 1871 through the German Empire to the World War I era is presented. The effects of this history on the postal service, and the types of stamps issued in the Germanic areas, are discussed.

Pharmacy stamps include the 1972 commemorative honoring the 120th anniversary of the American Pharmaceutical Assn. The stamp, designed by Ken Davies, was very popular and 165,895,000 copies were printed.
