Kodak introduces the Kodak DCS 460 digital camera which provides 36-bit-color images. Priced at $28,000, the DCS 460 stores images either on a hard drive, memory card or a Macintosh microcomputer. Similar high-tech digital photography products are in development at Minolta and Olympus.

Kodak's Photo CD is a result of 'hybrid' technology that combines use of photo images from 35mm film and the capacity to store and to print them from a CD. The images can be displayed on a television screen. The cost for a CD is about $20 and with prints, $30.
