The Popular Photography Oct 1943 issue focused on darkroom installation, equipment and usage. Tips on developing roll film and making contact prints were included. All of this information concerned black-and-white photography, but there was advice on printing B&W from slides.

The Aug 1943 Popular Photography issue featured articles about the technique of self-portraiture as well as doing portraits of models on a beach. The journal also illustrated photos taken by winners of the National High School Salon of Photography.
