Article Abstract:
A stamp collector sees many similarities in fishing and bidding at stamp auctions. Some stamp collectors even use fishing jargon. A major similarity is the tall tale that often is created after the activity is over. But both fishing and bidding requires enthusiasm and love for the sport.

George Meany FDC has antique cigar label cachet
Article Abstract:
A brief history of the CIO, the leader union headed by George Meany, along with a biographical sketch of the labor leader is given. The FDC for his stamp issued in 1994, included a picture of Samuel Gompers an earlier labor leader. A cigar label from 1898 is also depicted.
