A man and his wife recount their experience in collecting barite rose rocks in Oklahoma. Barite roses are the official state rock of Oklahoma. They are so called since they are rose to reddish in color due to the inclusion of red Garber sand.

Tee off at Topaz mountain
Article Abstract:
A couple makes a trip to Topaz mountain to look for the crystals that have made the mountain famous. The trek yielded clear, champagne-colored crystals obtained by chipping through vugs found inside the rocks.
