Benitoite and the hiddenite are the two unique American gems. Hiddenite is probably the most rare of highly regarded recognized gems and this makes it the most valuable of secondary gems.

The Gems seen and bought at the Tucson shows are mentioned. The gem that caught one's fancy was the small amethyst crystal with inclusions that were goethite.
