Israel honors the New Jewish year 5756

Sep 4, 1995 was first day of issue for the new Israeli stamps. The stamps highlight the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the New Year of 5756. The set of three stamps is described and a brief history of the state of Israel and its most important rites and ceremonies are recounted.

Gambia honors World War II-era Hollywood heroes
Article Abstract:
The sheetlet of eight horizontal stamps and the souvenir sheets are described. The souvenir sheets depict movie posters of such vintage films as "Life Boat" and "Desert Victory." The military contributions of each of the stars honored, are noted briefly.

The Irish Post Office has introduced four new postage stamps depicting reptiles and amphibians as part of its 18th annual Flora and Fauna issue. There are only four species of reptiles and amphibians indigenous to Ireland.
