Last of U.N. human rights series released

The UN Postal Administration issued the six remaining postage stamps in its series of 30 that commemorate the struggle for human rights on Jun 11, 1993. The stamps depict the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and issuance began in 1989.

An autobiographical book brings notoriety

A scene from Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women' is portrayed on one of the newly released 29-cent postage stamps featuring famous childrens books. This book, based on her own life experiences, started Alcott's career as a famous writer.

National Postal Museum to open
Article Abstract:
The National Postal Museum is due to open in summer 1993 in Washington D.C. The museum will house the national stamp collection currently in the Smithsonian Institute and will be headed by James Bruns.
