Mission critical
Article Abstract:
Legend Entertainment's $55 Mission Critical adventure game has impressive aesthetics and features plenty of smooth, advanced Super VGA artwork. It offers 120 explorable locations and 400 different views. A well-designed and fitting soundtrack sets the mood and tone of the game. The game's puzzles are of varied difficulty levels. Solving them is logical and linear. The player follows the plot line trying to find the one true path to success that will save the alliance. Failure to do so will doom all Earth. True gaming enjoyment requires liking the game's storyline assumption that non-emotional, sentient machines are the next stage of positive evolution. If the user does not accept this concept, the game playing may feel pointless. The game suffers some minor graphics and sound incompatibilities under Microsoft's Windows 95.
