P-51D Mustang

Wayne Siewert of Aerotech Models is the creator of the North American P-51D Mustang model aircraft. It has a one-piece fuselage and wing. It is a 1/5 scale model made out of carbon fiber. The airframe has duz fasteners, screws and over 20,000 molded rivets. It weighs 25 lbs.

AMA scale R/C/ Nationals
Article Abstract:
The Academy of Model Aeronautics Scale R/C Nationals celebrated its 70th year with a month-long competition in Muncie, IN. A total of 48 model airplane pilots competed in the Designer, Expert and Sportsman Scale classes. The next competition will be held on July 1997.
