Jewelers need to observe precautionary and safety measures when working with chemicals. They must procure for themselves the Materials Safety Data Sheet to know the physical and chemical characteristics, health hazard data and others. Tips in handling acetylene, oxygen and propane are presented.

An 11-step process of making a jewelry clasp is presented. The materials needed for this project include 0.118" and 0.102" sterling tubing, 2x2" 20-gauge sterling silver sheet, silver saw and blades, beeswax, steel block, steel wool, ballpeen hammer, and grinding wheel.
