Selig airfoil update
Article Abstract:
Michael Selig and a team of researchers are developing airfoils for model airplanes at the Univ. of Illinois, and have a growing number of reports available their web site. Most show that airfoils can affect the aircraft's stall performance, and that molded airfoils are the most accurate.

The model airplane developed by Burt Rutan will complete in the Defense Dept's 'Close-Range Unmanned Vehicle Competition' in Jul 1993. This example of freewing technology has a six-foot span and is far more stable in high winds than other types of craft.

The Spinwing: world's first flying "stop-rotor" R/C aircraft

The Spinwing aircraft model can easily switch between airplane and helicopter modes because of its unique stop-rotor design. Hence, the Spinwing eliminates the need for rotor and wing pylons. The aircraft is also ideal for areas with no landing places.
