A history of San Antonio,TX and the Alamo is presented as well as a description of the siege of the Alamo. A few anecdotes in the life of Davy Crockett are provided. Stamps and other items issued by the United States Postal Service which honor the defenders, are described.

The origins of April Fools' Day
Article Abstract:
Several stamps have been issued to commemorate the activities associated with April 1. The day is probably associated with an ancient ritual at which gifts were exchanged. Other possible origins are described.
