The Louvre celebrates its bicentennial
Article Abstract:
Several countries have or are planning to issue commemorative stamps of the art in the Louvre in celebration of the museum's bicentennial. The nations that are participating in the celebration include Antigua-Barbuda, Dominica and Grenada. Other nations are expected to join.

Russia has issued many stamps to commemorate the achievements of poet Pushkin. His poetry inspired the work of other artists. Pushkin's inspiration was based on social and political issues of the early 19th century when he lived.
