Top Gun '98: Frank Tiano's scale invitational celebrates 10 years

The 1998 Top Gun competition saw 59 scale airplane contestants compete for several prizes. The top ranking pilot for the year is Charlie Chambers with his P-61 Black widow, the top ranking designer is Jeff Foley for the Me-109E while the top team for the year is the Pinegar/Alfafara team.

Giant-scale battle for air superiority

The 6th Annual Madera Giant-Scale Unlimited Race organized by Endless Horizon Inc. was held on Sep 25-29, 1996 at the Madera Municipal Airport, CA. It is a team competition participated in by 145 entries with over $10,000 in prizes. The next race will be held on Oct 1-5, 1997.

Top gun: the best in scale competition

The 1996 Top Gun Scale Invitational involving competition of model airplanes was held in West Palm Beach, FL. Terry Nitsch was named Top Gun for the third consecutive time for his F-86 Sabre Jet. Graeme Mears and Dave Patrick won in the Team Scale for their DH 82A.
