Tyco Brahe honored by Denmark & Sweden
Article Abstract:
The joint stamp issue which honors the astronomer is valid since in 1546 he was born in Skane, Denmark which is now in Sweden. He devoted his life to the study of astronomy, built instruments and made many observations. He built an observatory on the island of Ven, but died in Prague in 1601.

H.G. Wells: foreseer of the future
Article Abstract:
Abstracts designs are used on the four commemorative stamps to honor four of Wells' science fiction books. The works are, 'The Time Traveler,' 'First Men in the Moon,' 'War of the Worlds,' and 'Things to Come.' Wells' life and career is recounted.

Sukarno: architect of Indonesian independence
Article Abstract:
Sukarno cofounded the Indonesian Nationalist Party in 1928 and declared Indonesia's independence after Japan surrendered in World War II in 1945. Numerous stamps honoring Sukarno have been released since 1951.
