"Year of the cat" at Philadelphia stamp show
Article Abstract:
The US Postal Service issued a stamped envelope with a picture of a cat's head and paw prints on Oct 2, 1993, at the 53rd annual Philadelphia National Stamp Exhibition. It is the only stamped envelope depicting a cat. Other events at the conference are discussed.

Many national parks were formed by volcanic activity or during the Ice Age and have unique geologic features. Crater Lake, OR, and Glacier National Park, MT, are pictured on commemorative stamps issued in 1934.
