A colorist's classic: Lynden Miller plants with an artist's eye in her Connecticut garden

The Miller home was built in 1760 and is white with dark green shutters. To complement its traditional features, the formal garden has been given a heavy dose of mixed green shrubbery with touches of blue, purple and crimson flowers supported with oak-leaf plants and stalks.

Ryley has used rhododendrons, known for growing well in the Victoria, British Climate, and combined them with specimen trees and herbaceous perennials for year-round color and diversity. The layout and design of her garden are examined.
