The Lebanon
Article Abstract:
Lebanon may have assets in its well-educated population, but it still has to contend with such problems as a significant number of ethnic groups, returning expatriates, and an influx of Syrian migrant workers, among others. Although these do not enhance employer-employee relations, the employment and benefits situation in Lebanon is far from sluggish. Some of the factors that make Lebanon's employer-employee situation unique are the imposition of additional burden on employers by the system of end-of-service indemnities and the implication on business of the growing freedom of Lebanese women as compared with other Arab women.
