Adventures in Hannibal
Article Abstract:
National Tom Sawyer Days are celebrated in Hannibal, Missouri, during the Fourth of July weekend. The town borders the Mississippi River, and festival goers can visit Mark Twain's house and the cave where his characters' Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher were lost. There is a fence painting contest, and a competition in which children do their best representations of Tom and Becky.
