Article Abstract:
Alice Ballard Munn, a South Carolina native artist is talented at manipulating the myriad possibilities of colored terra sigillata on white earthenware and has developed unusual mixtures of stains and oxides that give her a broad palette. In the show at the Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina from July 30-September 10, 2005, the series Tree Totems is found very impressive that exhibits a range of color in lovely gradations with subtle shifts of texture.

The exhibition 'La Renaissance Indigene' held at Heard Museum, Phoenix, Arizona from October 2004 to June 2005, presented works of the sculptor artist Virgil Ortiz. His sculptures are based on the large, hollow, standing human figures created by Cochiti potters in the 1800s, made in response to the flood of people who arrived with the opening of the Santa Fe Trail in 1821.

Article Abstract:
Textile sculptor Kiyomi Iwata's works derive their beauty from their ability to simultaneously comply with and divert from conventional use. Artist Ken Loeber's brooches, on the other hand, feature a bipolar theme which use contrasting design ideas to produce attractive ornamental objects.
