As darkness descends...

Article Abstract:

Astronomers come to McDonald Observatory near Fort Davis, TX, to train their telescopes on the vast sky and explore its wonderful mysteries. The facility has an 82-in telescope built in 1968. Its remote West Texas site is ideal because of its clear nights, as it is one of America's darkest patches.
