A birdhouse intended as an outdoor decoration became home to some local birds and a source of entertainment to an observer of the birds' amusing antics. The nest-building practices of the house-wren led to questions of the animal's intellectual abilities and standards of comfort. Other residents included more intelligent and romance-minded sparrows.

The embryo's canary: morning sickness
Article Abstract:
Margie Profet of the University of California at Berkeley believes morning sickness may have developed as an evolutionary means of keeping mothers from ingesting toxins found in meat and vegetables that may harm the developing fetus. Other research on morning sickness is discussed.
