Carpal tunnel syndrome can affect anyone who strains their wrists regularly or does the same task for long periods, such as extensive gardening. It has gained the most notice for afflicting users of computer keyboards, but those who work on those all week and garden or have similar hobbies may be at particular risk. Bonnie Appleton, a professor of horticulture who suffers the ailment, offers ergonmically designed tools and related items. Signs of CTS include numb or tingling hands, painful wrists, and poor circulation.
