Carrot rust fly (Psila rosae)
Article Abstract:
The larvae of the carrot rust fly is a harmful garden pest. The adult fly lays its eggs on the carrot plant at soil level and then the larvae burrow in and eat the carrot root. They can be controlled by planting between larvae seasons, using a floating row cover or growing the Fly away variety of carrot.

Flowers that snub slugs?
