Matchbook cover collecting

Matchbook cover collecting is the second most popular hobby after stamp collecting in the US. Matchbooks were first made in the late 1890s, but few made before the 1930s have survived. Manufacture of disposable lighters may bring about a scarcity of matchbook covers.
