Deck rail redo: a new railing and built-in lighting complete our deck transformation

Article Abstract:

Directions to redo the railing of a deck are given. The new railing provides a more open feeling, as it has shorter balusters, several posts, beveled stringers and rail caps. Better lighting was added during the rebuild as well. The steps were moved and made wider as well.
