Drooping leucothoe
Article Abstract:
Leucothoe is native to the Southeast, but will grow in most areas if properly protected and cared for. Also known as dog hobble or fetterbush, it is a very dense shrub that can grow 6 feet tall and wide. It likes well-fertilized soil that drains well but stays moist.

Well-behaved rhododendrons: these compact shrubs won't outgrow their welcome
Article Abstract:
Many rhododendrons will grow to be 10 to 12 feet high, but some varieties are appropriate for home gardeners because they grow to a height of three feet or less in 10 years. These varieties include the Koichiro Wada, Exbury, Scarlet Wonder, and Baden-Baden.
