A new type of Chinese evergreen, the Snow Queen, makes an attractive houseplant. The plant has eye-catching, cream-colored stalks with mottled, light green foliage. Tolerant of low light found in most homes, it thrives in medium light, such as near a bright window.

A complete turnaround
Article Abstract:
Homeowners Don and Kathy Gately were able to expand their driveway to accommodate a patio near their backyard. The driveway eliminated the need to back up the car for 100 feet. The patio was lined with brick and bordered hawthorne hedges and azaleas.

Capital gardens

The gardens in and near Washington, D.C., soften an otherwise severe atmosphere. Many of the gardens are unpopulated, free, and provide a blissful and isolated place. Highly recommended for travelers is Georgetown's Dumbarton Oaks.
