Plants can be attended to even if a resident goes off on a summer vacation trip. They should be sprinkled thoroughly with water and placed in a shaded area before departure, or placed in a tub or children's pool with about two to three inches of water and placed away from direct light.

Little pool makes a big splash

Water gardens are easy to install in the area where a swimming pool used to be. A 14x14 ft plastic liner can be draped to cover the bottom and sides of the pool, and large stones are used around the edge of the pool.

Daffodils come naturally
