Gastonia's Schiele Museum
Article Abstract:
The Schiele Museum offers visitors living history sessions to demonstrate and explain 18th century rural life in North Carolina. Visitors will also learn much from the exhibits of regional wildlife, art and history, a planetarium and a re-createad gristmill, backcountry farm and Catawba Indian village.

Cheekwood pours a fine cup of arts
Article Abstract:
Cheekwood is a 60-room Georgian mansion built by Maxwell House coffee magnate Leslie Cheek and his wife, Mabel Wood Cheek. Donated by the Cheeks to the Tennessee Botanical Gardens and Fine Arts Center in 1957, the mansion now houses 19th- and 20th-century American art and boasts of thematic gardens.

Whistling into autumn
Article Abstract:
The attractions of nature in autumn can be seen to their full advantage when high up. Two trips by steam railroad one in the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia and the other in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado this are described.
