Article Abstract:

A writer describes her experience as a volunteer working on the Appalachian Trail. As part of the Appalachian Trail's Konnarock Trail Crew, she helped to rebuild a portion of the trail by building drainage devices, constructing rock staircases and adding a new spur trail to a spring. Information on becoming an Appalachian Trail volunteer is provided.
