Article Abstract:
Nitrogen-fixing cover crops can be grown after such soil-depleting crops as corn are harvested. Another way is to interplant the cover crop in with the heavy feeders. Test were done at New Mexico State Univ. The cover crops do not reduce the yield of the other crop. Vetch was one plant tested.

Grow strawberries in a barrel!
Article Abstract:
Strawberries can be grown in a barrel planter on a porch or patio. Not only will they provide delicious fruit, they make an attractive decoration. The barrel is drilled with planting holes at 3 levels and strawberries are planted at each level with the leaves pushed through from the inside.

Grow grow pawpaw!
Article Abstract:
The pawpaw, found wild in 25 states and into Canada, offers many benefits. Some are still in the research stage, such as finding ways to use its anti-cancer property. It has a sweet custard-tasting fruit, makes a good landscape tree and is hardy. Farmers should be encouraged to plant it.
