'Delft' was first used to describe imported ceramic wares from the Netherlands in the seventeenth century. The term was commonly applied to the classic designs, featuring windmills and sailing ships in blue and white, in the last half of the nineteenth century. The earliest pieces of Delft command high commercial value.

RS porcelains

RS porcelains are the handiwork of three members of the Schlegelmilch family that produced decorated porcelain in Germany in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The hand-decorated porcelain pieces were made by highly skilled decorators.
