The Chevron/Times Mirror Magazines Conservation Award program has demonstrated that one person really can make a difference. The 1995 award winners include hiking-trail expert John Sutherland and nature photographer Robert Glenn Ketchum, as well as the Valley Proud Environmental Council.

Mississippi takes Manhattan
Article Abstract:
More than 200 Mississippians gather for an annual pilgrimage from the Magnolia State to New York, NY. The highlight of the pilgrimage is an Oxford-style dinner on the grounds, called Picnic in the Park. Brooklyn's New York Society sponsors it for the preservation of Mississippi Heritage.
