Article Abstract:

The trend now is to purchase all manner of gardening products, such as kneelers and boots, that keep the dirt away from the gardener. Even the dictionary gives many unattractive meanings for dirt. Composting, digging, kneeling in the dirt to plant, are all acts linking humans to the earth.
