Article Abstract:
Erich and Helga Boehrer moved into their home in Running Springs, CA just three years after buying the lot. The pouring of the foundation, hanging of the drywall and erecting of the roof was done by professionals. Otherwise, the Boehrers built the house themselves.

Article Abstract:
Chet Grabowski, of Denver, CO, used discarded concrete from a shopping center parking lot to build a retaining wall around his house. Concrete slabs in the 200-foot-long wall were dry-stacked, with sand, silt and small chips used to fill spaces.
