Pocket doors are useful because they do not take up the 8 to 10 sq. ft. floor space required by other doors. Instant privacy is created when they are pulled out from their hiding place in the wall. The installation requires that the metal-and-wood cage that the pocket door slides into is put in before the drywall goes up.
