Casino to embark on restructuring phase

Article Abstract:

French retail group Casino is to begin a phase of restructuring following its successful resistance to a hostile takeover bid from Promodes. The reorganisation will target its supermarket and hypermarket operations, the US-based Smart & Final unit, integration of the recently-acquired Leader Price and Franprix chains, and continuing international expansion. Meanwhile, Jean-Charles Naouri's Rallye group has completed its friendly acquisition of Casino and now holds a 53.8% share.

Biochemists worldwide have accepted the maxim "you are what you eat," first used 20 years ago, relating to the stable isotope ratio. Studies documenting the strong correlation between stable-isotope ratios have been numerous in vertebrates. Environmental influences have also been shown. Stable-isotope biogeochemistry is rapidly expanding. Several international meetings have held to study stable-isotope compositions in animals.
