Personal determinants of the first postretirement move
Article Abstract:
Data collected from 5,662 people to identify the reasons for the first postretirement move found that personal reasons, perceptions of retirement and relocation, desired post-retirement community services, and geographic climatic references were key determinants. The people who thought that they might move after retirement expected to relocate with ease, chose the time of their retirement but not the place, did not own their own homes, or desired to settle near oceans rather than mountains.
