Succeed with shallots

Shallots are relatives of onions that are commonly used in French recipes to provide a flavor similar to garlic. Gardening supplies sell shallots by bulblets which should be planted during March and April and harvested in midsummer. Rows between bulbs should be cultivated to prevent weed growth.
