Danish silversmith George Jensen opened his workshop when he was thirty eight years old in 1904. He was said to be a very exacting and moody sculptor who adhered to high quality standards. The company was acquired by porcelain and glass manufacturer Royal Copenhagene in 1980 and still adheres to the same high quality standards.
