Pecans occupy a special place in the hearts of Southerners, making it the South's family tree. The pecan tree provides shade in the summer and come autumn, gives bountiful fall harvests of the nuts, which are transformed into delightful dishes. Pecans can be added to dishes or baked for snacking.
