An art critic describes her experiences attending the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, ME. At first she was apprehensive that the artists would not accept her, but once she started creating her own pottery, she relaxed and found the experience enjoyable.

A journey to health through art

Embroiderer Lee Malerich used her fight with colon cancer as a source of creativity to create works which have strong social and emotional content. Malerich successfully held an exhibition of her works at the Jacksonville clinic in Florida in October 1997.
