Timber Press has distinguished itself as a premier publisher of specialized horticulture books since it was founded in 1976. Under the new ownership of Bob Conklin following its sale by founder Richard Abel, Timber Press continues to offer titles aimed at specific interests such as ivy and Japanese maples. Conklin is dedicated to maintaining the press's original goal of providing quality horticulture books to customers. Since he took ownership Timber Press has increased its yearly publications from 15 to 35 and annual sales have been up from $1.5 million to $5 million in 1995.
