Common tomato pests include flea beetles and hornworms and common diseases include wilt, blossom end rot and leaf spot. Hornworms are controlled with Bacillus thuringiensis spray and wilt can be avoided by purchasing resistant varieties. Thorough watering, shading and frost protection stops other problems.

Bats
Article Abstract:
Bats are often seen as nuisances to be driven away, but they are ravenous insect eaters and are beneficial to gardens. Their droppings, or guano, is also an excellent addition to the compost pile. Bats living in attic areas can be confined to those areas with judicious use of plastic sheeting.
