Toy steam engines
Article Abstract:
Mechanical toys date back to the period prior to the Christian era but were popularized in Augsburg and Nuremberg in Germany in the 16th century. Back then, toys utilized heat as a power source. By the last quarter of the 19th century, heat gave way to steam and heralded the rise of the steam engine.

Eva Melady's world of flowers
Article Abstract:
Artist Eva Melady emigrated to the US from England in 1912 when she was a young girl, and after art school she embarked on a successful career as a painter, specializing in works depicting flowers. She won several awards for her work, including one from the Horticultural Society of New York.
