A quintessential New England house - in Texas

Jean and Don St Clair both love early New England architecture and had built a house in Weatherford, TX, whose design was based on photographs of old New England houses. Designed by architect McKie Wing Roth, the weathered clapboard house is reminiscent of the Massachusetts towns of Deerfield and Sturbridge.

A guide to period textiles
Article Abstract:
Textile weaving can be traced to 18th-century Europe before the practice found its way to America. The earliest textiles were either produced at home or imported from Europe. Textiles acquired strange names through the years including cheyney, moreen, chintz, toile and haircloth.

Homewood

Homewood House, located at the Johns Hopkins University campus in Baltimore, MD, is considered one of the finest Federal homes in the country. Originally conceived by Charles Carroll Jr as a summer house, Homewood combines Federal interior design with Georgian elements.
