Bernhardt to end production at Plant 2

High-end furniture manufacturing and importing company Bernhardt is closing its 350,000 square foot Plant 2 case goods manufacturing facility at Lenoir, North Carolina, the plant will be converted into a warehousing, product development and quality control center. The effects of this decision are also discussed.

Export opportunities to China evolving rapidly
Article Abstract:
The Chinese furniture imports were up 37 percent in 2003, and would keep increasing, especially after import taxes on furniture are eliminated by 2005. As the Chinese consumers are quite brand conscious and China imports a lot of furniture, would lead to better market for other furniture companies.
