This article discusses the planning of Canadian retailers in the face of a lagging economy made worse by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Canadian furniture sellers such as Tepperman's Furniture and Stoney Creek Furniture believe that Canadian consumers are more optimistic than their U.S. counterparts.

Leon's 3Q sales up 8.7%, profits surge 25.5%

The retailer Leon's Furniture witnessed increase in revenues by 8.7% in third quarter 2004, as compared to 2003. The reasons for the increase in sales, which are attributed to the success in improving the company's product lines and its dynamic marketing strategies, are examined.
